​Bio

Cynthia Delaney is a well-known photographer, writer and teacher.  She has taught photography at Great Basin College since 2001.  Her other teaching experiences include teaching 4-H photography classes in Winnemucca and Elko, teaching youth photography for Elko Parks and Recreation and leading travel photography classes around the world.
Cynthia has won photography awards from the Nevada Arts Council, “Range Magazine”, “Nevada Magazine”, Shooting the West and the Nevada Press Association. 
Cynthia has written the book “Rural Nevada:  A Guide to the Rural Regions.” A copy of this book will be given to each student participating in the class. 
In her spare time Cynthia enjoys spending time with her family including her husband Ronnie Joe Varnell, two cats, two birds and two guinea pigs.  She also enjoys traveling, reading, working out, gardening and making different kinds of art.
